Moxie Fab: Bright & Bold Challenge

I'm back with a challenge. I found color challenges on the Moxie Fab World site so I thought I'd play along. I chose the Bright & Bold Color Challenge for Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week in the Moxie Fab World. Here's the colors I had to work with:

And here's what I came up with.

I knew I wanted to try to make a Valentine's Day/love card, 'tis the season and all. And I haven't gotten near enough use out of Lawn Fawn's "Just My Type" stamp set. I think it came out cute. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Lawn Fawn 'Just My Type', Heidi Grace 'Reagan's Closet' stamps (tiny heart)

Hi - Jubilee Card

This card features another great paper collection, K & Company's Jubilee! This card is all about the paper.

Aren't those chipboard letters great?! I love how big they are and that some of them have a little bling on them. I made the layered bottom with a Fiskars border punch and I used my greatly ignored Papertrey Ink flower dies to make that pretty flower.

I also used a technique I've seen on the web, sponging white paint on the edges of my card. I may have blended it out a bit too much on this card but it really helped add a wispy look to the card. I'll be sure to use this technique again soon. I love how bright and happy this card is!

Thanks for stopping by and come back agains soon!

Card Supplies

Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, K & Co. Jubilee
Other: K & Co. Jubilee Alpha Adhesive Chipboard, PTI Beautiful Blooms #1 Flower Dies, SEI Mimosa brads, Fiskars Upper Crest border punch, Creamacoat White Acrylic paint

You Make Me Happy Card

Here's the first card I made with my Restoration paper from Crate Paper. I can't tell you how much I love this collection! I love the muted pinks and blues.

I like this paper so much I didn't even stamp on this card. I used the die cuts and the stickers that came in the collection pack. I wanted a layered look with the flowers and doily. I know it's hard to see but the flowers are popped up at different heights.

I love this kitchy sentiment sticker. This paper collection "makes ME happy!" :)

Card Supplies

Paper: Crate Paper Restoration paper pack, PTI Vintage Cream, random blue cardstock
Other: Fiskar's scallop border punch, PTI Cream grosgrain ribbon, random button, pink bling

Happy Halloween Card

Today I have a spooky Halloween card. I've been wanting to use my Cricut more so I cut out a couple of frames and a spider for this card.

A little embossing with my Cuttlebug and simple sentiment and I think my card looks pretty good! The spider is a great cut. I love how this card is dark and spooky looking! A nice break from the flowery cards I've been making. :)

Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon!

Thank You - 2S4Y #62

After posting those cards that missed their challenges, I wanted to be sure to get this card card up and submitted!
2 Sketches 4 You always has great sketches and this weeks was no different. Unfortunately, I think my card is way too busy. I was so excited to use my Restoration paper by Crate Paper that I think I over did it. :( I'm pretty sure using it as a back drop to take my photo didn't help either. LOL!)

I like the double line of ruffle ribbon and my pretty flower chipboard. Oh well, there'll be another challenge next week!

I also wanted to show the only card I made on Worldwide Card Making Day. I made it with my 5 year old and he designed it for us. Here's my version:

He's on a Halloween kick! :)

Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon!

Bee-utiful Card

Here's my second card for a challenge that didn't get up in time. It was for a Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger challenge. Here's the card.

The challenge showed this pretty, fall colored afghan and we were to take some inspiration from it and make a card.

I took the color scheme and the honeycomb shape. I think the card turned out ok. I wish I'd added a soft texture to the background with a stamp or something, the card seems a little flat.

Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon!

Paper: PTI Ripe Avocado, Stamper's Select White
Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms Sweet Bee
Ink: Distress Inks Shabby Shutters, Barn Door, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Spiced Marmalade, Studio G yellow ink

Hi There card

Sometimes there aren't enough hours in the day. Here's a card I made for a challenge that didn't get posted in time. :( Challenges are still fun because they give you a starting point. Without further ado, here's the card.

Isn't it pretty?? I paper pieced the MFT image with the colors grey, green and yellow. I like the way this card turned out! I also used a 2S4Y sketch for this. Cards are a lot easier to design and put together when you have a sketch, color scheme and stamp company to use! :)

Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon! I have another card tomorrow for another challenge I didn't get to in time. Darn those kids! :)

Card Supplies

Paper: PTI Kraft, Ripe Avocado, Basic Grey Green At Heart
Stamps: MFT Who's That E Girl, Essential Sayings
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Other: Devine Twine, random yellow button, 7 gypsies tape, Distress ink Shabby Shutters

2S4Y #62 - Friendship card

Happy World Card Makers Day! I made this card for 2 Sketches 4 You and forgot to post it. Todays the last day so I'm eeking it in under the wire. This weeks great sketch was to have a decorate border on your card. This was both challenging for me and fun! Here's what I came up with!

I made this small 3 3/4" X 3 3/4" card using my Spellbinders Labels One set. I just cut off the decorative border and left the rest of the card intact. I did the same thing to some Echo Park Paper Co. Sweet Summertime paper as well. I trimmed up a die cut and added a sticker to really emphasize the border shape. And I finally got to use some of this cute flower ribbon!

Well I'm off to make a card with my five year old in honor of World Card Making day! AND I got the Crate Paper's Restoration collection today and I'm sooooo excited! I can't wait to make a card with it. You'll see it debut later this week! Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon!

Card Supplies

Paper: PTI Kraft, Echo Park Paper Co. Sweet Summertime,

Offset Scallop Gallop Challenge

How great is the name of this challenge?! :) This is a challenge from Moxie Fab World and I love it!

I decided to use this great pattern paper from K & Company. It's actually from a Girl Scouts specialty paper pack but the patterns don't all scream Girl Scouts. I even bought the die cuts for the collection. I kept this card simple and let the offset scallops be the main focus.

Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon!

Card Supplies

Paper: We R Memory Keepers Vintage Blue textured card stock, K & Co. Girl Scout Specialty Paper Pack
Stamps: PTI Birthday Bash Sentiments
Ink: Studio g
Other: PTI Hawaiian Shores twill ribbon, K & Co. Girl Scout die cuts, fiskars corner punch

Deep Sympathy - WMS16

Back with yet another challenge card. Sometimes challenges get the mojo going and at least give you a jumping off point. This card is for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #16. It's another great and inspiring sketch, so many themes can go with it!

I decided to make a sympathy card as, unfortunately, one always needs a few in ones stash. They are so hard to make, I find keeping things simple is best. I stamped with a pretty flower image in VersaMark on different colored card stocks leaving just a faint image. A simple sentiment and thats about it.

Thanks for stopping by and come back again soon!

Card Supplies

Paper: PTI Kraft, Plum Pudding, Pure Poppy, Melon Berry, Vintage Cream, random green card stock
Stamps: Inkadinkado Garden Delight
Ink: VersaMark, StazOn Timber Brown
Other: Brown Pearl, Clear Embossing Powder
